About This Product

The Drive Scout Mobility Scooter is the latest portable scooter developed by Drive Medical. The scooter is ideal for use indoors as well as providing a stable outdoor performance.

Lightweight but strong, the Scout is capable of supporting a person up to 130kg (286lbs). The mobility scooter boasts a maximum range of 10 miles (which can be extended to 13miles with battery upgrade) and is capable of speeds up to 4mph. It is also easy to manoeuvre with controls set around a delta bar tiller which are clear and simple to use. The scooter sports a handy removable basket which is ideal for carrying small items. The Scout includes batteries that can be charged on and off the scooter which means the scooter can be left in the car whilst batteries are charged indoors overnight.

The Drive Scout’s portability is one of its standout features. The scooter can be separated easily into five compact parts for transportation and storage with its next generation splitting mechanism.

Designed for comfort in mind, the mobility scooter features a padded seat that is height adjustable as well as width adjustable armrests so it can be tailored to comfort.

Overall, we think the Drive Scout Mobility Scooter is a well-engineered lightweight scooter that is perfect for transportation and storage. It is available in two colours - blue and red.

    mobility scooter

Scooter is good for what it says its for in the ad, Do not buy this product thinking to save money if you need more more movement than Stayted in the ad, It is very limited in its ability to cope with obstacles such as uneven surfaces and you do need to keep an eye on your battery as hills an slopes do run it down quicker than expected, Having said that it is very car friendly fits in a reasonably sized boot when broken down and isn't Too heavy for an average person to lift in,great for smooth cycle paths and shopping malls, Used as recommended this scooter is as good as you're going to get for the price, Brouse the price listings as it varies enormously.

    scout mobility scooter

Brought this for my wife great little scoot she loves it seems to have plenty of power to do its job as another review stated its not a go anywhere scooter but has coped well with grass on firm ground great for going down the shops etc. From my point of view the guy who has to put it in the boot its really simple at first I found the splitting rear section a bit of a pain to lock back together but got the hang of it now all bits of the scooter are manageable and fit in the car boot (which is not the biggest boot in the world) couple of things I will say is that the charger gets very hot but seems OK and the battery gauge on our one does seem a bit temperamental has shown only one red light meaning its flat but after turning it off for a minute or two when you stop at a shop when you turn it back on goes back up to 2 or 3 lights but apart from that all in all its great especially with this price tag

    Having trouble putting it together

I have owned one of these for the past 6 months. If you leave the bracket that holds down the battery at the bottom of the frame you will never be able to assemble the scooter. When it clips together the handle needs to go up quite a way. If it is not it won't go together. Very frustrating.
I discharged the batteries using it at a festival. The trip nor the fuses blew but the bottom of the battery box melted.
A new battery box £150 without batteries ( what a rip off)
